All of us at Decision Associates are pleased to announce expERIEnce Children’s Museum as the recipient of a $30,000 Services Grant designed to build organizational capacity and effectiveness.

Approximately twenty organizations applied for this grant opportunity, which was given to the organization that best met the following criteria: need for capacity building services, capacity to benefit from the services granted and total impact on the community.

The expERIEnce Children’s Museum advances a mission to enrich the lives of children by providing an educational, creative, interactive and safe environment where learning and fun go hand in hand. The Children’s Museum presents dozens of hands-on exhibits, programs and activities related to the arts, sciences and humanities, generally geared toward children ages 2-10.Tami Netkowicz, Executive Director of the Children’s Museum is ready and excited to benefit from this grant opportunity.

“The timing of this grant couldn’t be better for the Museum. Having recently undergone leadership transitions at both the executive and board levels, the Museum has begun to redefine a focus and vision for enhanced operational sustainability and short and long-term growth and expansion. The organization is ready to formally define its strategic vision and plan to accomplish its goals. A key part of that plan will be the market research and marketing planning services that will also be part of the Museum’s work with Decision Associates. Decision Associates will undoubtedly provide the tools and resources to ensure the Museum’s long-term success and maximize its service to the community’s children, students and families,” said Netkowicz.

The runner up for this grant will also benefit from participating in this grant process. The Multicultural Community Resource Center will also receive a $10,000 services grant. The Nonprofit Partnership and Decision Associates decided to team up and create a $10,000 grant which is contributed equally by Decision Associates and The Nonprofit Partnership. This additional grant will give the Multicultural Center the Opportunity to receive the services that are the greatest immediate needs. This will help insure they can continue to thrive and grow.

The Multicultural Resource Center provides a variety of educational and employment programs to the Immigrant and New American populations in Erie in a customer focused manner. All services promote client self—sufficiency and improved economic, physical and/or social wellbeing.

Work with the Museum and The Multicultural Center are set to begin the week of November 7th.

Don and Sue Moore, owners of Decision Associates are excited to make this donation to the community. “Working with nonprofits, we’ve seen firsthand how funding continues to challenge the nonprofit community. When funding becomes scarce it is even more important that nonprofits look at creative ways to build their capacity. Doing so will allow them to carry out their mission beyond where they ever thought possible. Our goal is to help transform two local nonprofits and help further their mission.”

A blog on the Decision Associates website will be established soon so that interested readers can watch the progress of each project. Visit: www.DecisionAssociates.net
