Several months ago, I had the honor of being interviewed by PA Manufacturer magazine for a story on the “Keys to Succession Planning”. The article, which served as the cover story for the most recent issue, explored trends and issues impacting small to medium sized manufacturers throughout Pennsylvania. PA Manufacturer magazine is published in cooperation with Pennsylvania's seven Industrial Resource Centers, several of which have obtained licensures for use of the Decision Associates’ succession planning methodology. Assessment Technology:  Using the Tools of Today for Hiring and Human Resource Development

Hiring the right people is crucial to any business’s success. While this has always been true, today’s employment market presents an even greater challenge than in the past.

According to Jim Ryan, consultant with Decision Associates, “It has been reported that over 75% of resumes are inaccurate, misleading or patently false in some respects. Many candidates for professional and management positions are coached on how to answer typical interview questions while many interviewers do not know how to ask the truly insightful and revealing behavioral and evidence-based questions that get to the root of a candidate’s capabilities and experiences. Upcoming Presentations
Don Moore and Deanne Patterson are among the lineup of speakers at the 2008 Industrial Resource Center’s Network Biennial. This year’s conference entitled “Sustain the Gain” will be held at the Bayfront Convention Center August 4-6. Don’s presentation will focus on succession planning while Deane will discuss techniques on how to improve marketing ROI.
